The Cheyenne Frontier Days™ (CFD) General Committee announced all but two of the names for the Frontier Nights® entertainment series at an event on Tuesday night. In addition to the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) Rodeo event, the CINCH Rodeo Shoot-out and the Championship Bull Riding (CBR) World Finals event will return to the Cheyenne arena in 2016.
Tickets will go on sale Saturday, November 21 at 9 a.m. MST at www.cfdrodeo.com, the Cheyenne Frontier Days Ticket Office and by calling (800) 227 – 6336.
Sam Hunt, Billy Currington, Kenny Chesney, Jake Owen, and Florida Georgia Line with special guests Maddie & Tae, LeDoux, Old Dominion and Cole Swindell were announced by General Chairman Bill Berg and Contract Acts Chairman Scott Fleming.
“We are pleased to have most of our line-up to announce tonight,” said Contract Acts chairman Scott Fleming. “We are working on getting the remaining two performances secured just as soon as possible and will have a follow-up announcement at that time.”
Championship Bull Riding (CBR) will be returning to Cheyenne Frontier Days to crown the 2016 World Champion. This is the culmination of the year-long 2016 Mahindra Road to Cheyenne Tour where bull riders have accumulated points towards the world title. Up for grabs is one of the most prestigious titles in bull riding and a $100,000 bonus won in 2015 by Cody Teel of Kountze, Texas. The 2016 CBR World Finals is also the final event for the Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge where bulls are competing for prize money. Competing on a team consisting of three bulls per team, last year’s bull team winner, Rawson / Probst owned by Mike Rawson, two-time CBR Stock Contractor of the Year, of Martinsville, Texas, took home a check for over $100,000.
Additionally, the 120th annual Cheyenne Frontier Days™ will feature nine days of professional rodeo with the PRCA, hundreds of vendors, a full carnival and everything else fans have come to expect from the “Daddy of ‘em All.®”
The CINCH Rodeo Shoot-out will return after its second successful year. The fast-paced, condensed format will feature 40 top contestants in bareback, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, barrel racing and bull riding in one afternoon.
Night show ticket prices will range from $27 to $69, with daily rodeo tickets costing $20 to $35. A $3 discount is offered on rodeo tickets purchased before July 1.
Fans can upgrade to a Frontier Nights® Fast Pass for early admission to the Party Zone, a voucher for best-available same-day rodeo tickets and a souvenir rodeo program. For a full events schedule and profiles of musical acts, go to https://cfdrodeo.com.
