The Dandies of the “Daddy of ’em All” serve as goodwill ambassadors for the world’s largest outdoor rodeo celebration. They represent Cheyenne Frontier Days at rodeos, fairs and other celebrations throughout the Rocky Mountain Region visiting a total of nine states. During the ten days of Frontier Days they will attend the Coronation Ball, the Western Art Show and Sale, the Pancake Breakfasts, and the USAF Thunderbird Aerial Demonstration. In addition, they participate in each of the four downtown parades, nine rodeo performances and eight night shows. The Dandies Director will devote hundreds of hours developing routines, selecting clothing, supervising practices, making travel arrangements and just being there for the girls. Clothing sponsors for the Dandies include: Wrangler, Justin Boots, and Bailey Hats.

Dandies Program Director

Cheyenne Frontier Days is seeking interested persons to fill the position of CFD Dandy Program Director.  For those individuals interested in applying please submit the following:

  • Resume and Cover Letter.  Cover Letter, to include your vision on how you will lead the Dandies program into the future, as well as what changes and/or improvements you would like to make and how you would make those changes/improvements.

Before submitting your Resume and Cover Letter, please read the following skills and abilities that will be considered when choosing the next Dandy Program Director:

  • Outstanding Horsemanship Skills are a must, with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate those skills
  • Safety Skills and Knowledge
  • A Proven Organizer
  • Time Management Skills, this program is a huge commitment requiring an extraordinary amount of time
  • Excellent Communicator – Ability to effectively communicate with teenagers, young adults, parents and CFD Leadership
