Job Summary
Chute 10 Mercantile is the only official retailer of Cheyenne Frontier Days and is seeking a passionate, hands-on Store Manager to lead our growing retail sales operation. This role is
ideal for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and enjoys building strong teams that performs successfully year round and excels during our high volume summer season.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily store operations, including sales, customer experience, merchandising, and inventory management
- Lead by example on the sales floor by delivering warm, personalized and engaging customer service
- Recruit, hire, train, and schedule both seasonal and year-round staff to support summer growth
- Prepare the store and temporary sales locations for peak summer season through proactive staffing plans, merchandising strategies, and inventory readiness
- Drive sales performance and motivate the team to achieve seasonal and annual performance goals
- Maintain visual merchandising standards that align with the Chute 10 Mercantile brand
- Ensures inventory accuracy, manages receiving processes and oversees loss prevention efforts
- Handle customer concerns with care and professionalism, maintaining strong community relationships
- Partner closely with leadership to share insights, providing feedback on trends, customer preferences, and growth opportunities
Qualifications
- 4+ years of retail management or key-holder experience, preferably in a boutique or specialty retail environment
- Strong leadership skills with a collaborative, hands-on management approach
- Proven experience in managing seasonal hiring and fluctuating sales volume
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable wearing multiple hats
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak summer season
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in apparel, gift, lifestyle, or specialty boutique retail
- Visual merchandising experience including seasonal product launches
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and POS platforms
